1. Sports often become symbolic battlegrounds between nations because most sports deals with two teams or two individuals playing sports against each other which brings the whole nation together, supporting their own countries.

I think imperialism/colonialism contains both militarily and politically controlling over another and proving one’s self-perceived cultural superiority because one way or the other, the two factors basically occur at the same time such as westerner taking over a country with military force while showing and proving their superiority in every aspect. Can a nation dominate another nation culturally without ever having done so militarily? Consider American pop culture dominating many nation's in the world's own pop culture. Or even Korean Halyoo.

I believe that Artistic renditions or photographs depict the heroics of war better. Through displaying different types of colors, the depiction becomes more lucid in our eyes. Black and white, for example, displays an excellent depiction of good and bad. Most of the time, white is the Japanese, and black is their enemy, for example, China. Not only that, the colors used helps us recognize in which perspective the drawing was drawn. Since there is a clear distinction between colors showing various meanings, it shows clear depiction of heroics of war.

I do believe that r photographs depict the heroics of war better since it gives the it shows the reality of war not just a symbolic and a biased view of the war. Photography shows the truth of the war, therefore giving people the glimpse of how the war is really like. It really shows the true brutality and the horrendous view of the war not just the peaceful and "containing-hero" war.
3. How does the medium affect the message? Can we say that, "The medium is the message"?
Medium affect the message by containing different types of interpretations. Since the message, if we look at it in anyway, it relevant in meaning however it is worded, medium leads the audience towards the message with different types of interpretations audiences form in their mind. I would say that medium is not necessarily the message, but rather a pathway to the message.
4. Why is 1905 such a turning point in Japanese and World history? How might history have been different had JApan lost the Russo-Japanese War?
Since Japan that was viewed as a small and a weak country beat the Russians, it was probably Japan's opportunity to reach forward into other "land-linked" nations which opened up the path of Japan's imperialism. Having such military power to defeat the Russian, such time period would've been seen as Japan's "golden-age." The war with the Russians probably showed other strong western nations the hidden power that Japan. Japan proved their worthiness in colonizing other nation. If Japan lost the Russo-Japanese War, Japan would've suffered from the debt that they owe to the Russians. Korea would've been an independent country in that time period, and Japan would've had to give up Korea.

She was chosen to be queen because Taewongun thought Mind would be a good wife, and also since she was young, Taewongun thought that she would be easy to handle.

It was a wise choice because she made various accomplishments such as building infrastructure, and improving modern technology. She made Russia, China, and Japan compete each other in order to balance their control over Korea.
